There are plenty of storylines surrounding the Buffalo Bills in 2018, but all fans care about is winning and returning to the postseason.

The Buffalo Bills are enjoying a rather quiet offseason. For now.

Things are stable in Buffalo but that doesn’t mean the competitions and controversies are gone for good in 2018.

ESPN.com recently went through and had its writers predict the top storyline for each NFL team in 2018. Bills writer Mike Rodak made his prediction that the team will go out trying to prove making the playoffs was not some sort of fluke.

Here is some of what Rodak had to say:

"The unexpected retirements of center Eric Wood and guard Richie Incognito could hurt the offensive line, while nobody knows what Buffalo will get this season at quarterback. Whether it is AJ McCarron, Nathan Peterman or rookie Josh Allen under center, the Bills could struggle to meet the high bar they set last season."

This is easily one of the top storylines for the Bills in 2018. But I see it being broken down even further. For anyone to even think about making the playoffs, or even having a winning season, it all boils down to the quarterback position.

It is what fans are talking about now and what everyone will continue talking about until the season comes to an end. It is going to take some dominant play from one of the three individuals in the competition to see a Bills quarterback start all 16 games in 2018. Yes, I’ll include Nathan Peterman in the running for now.

The other storyline, as Rodak touches on, is the play of the offensive line. Most of the questions surrounding the team focus on the offense, as even the wide receiver position can be thrown into there as a major question mark. So maybe the top storyline is the entire offense as a unit.

I have personally gotten caught up in all the storylines surrounding the offense, but it is possible this is just some offseason anxiety. The Bills could come out and dominate, showing Rodak’s storyline to be the one that does indeed stand out.
