Do the Buffalo Bills look to sign Colin Kaepernick?

With Tyrod Taylor recovering from a knee injury, and Nathan Peterman in concussion protocol, do the Buffalo Bills look to sign Colin Kaepernick?

Buffalo Bills’ Nathan Peterman scrambled for a two-yard gain before being hit helmet to helmet by the Indianapolis Colts’ Antonio Morrison, in the snowy game on Sunday.

The fifth-round pick from Pittsburgh was replaced by Joe Webb, the third-string quarterback on the Bills depth chart.

When asked if he would be ready to play next week when the Buffalo Bills face the Miami Dolphins, Joe Webb had this to say, according to ESPN:

"“We’ll see,” Webb said after the game. “We’ll see what’s going on with Tyrod and Nate. I will always be ready if my number’s called.”"

Tyrod Taylor is still on the mend from a bruised tendon in his knee which he suffered in last week’s game vs. New England. His inactivity was the reason Nathan Peterman was given the nod Sunday vs. Indianapolis.

With all of this going on, there is a real possibility that Taylor and Peterman could miss time, and Buffalo would be left with Joe Webb as the sole quarterback on the roster. This would not bode well for a Buffalo team that is outside looking in on the AFC playoff picture.

A name that continues to float around is Colin Kaepernick. The ex-NFL player, who led the San Francisco 49ers to a Super Bowl a few years ago, hasn’t played a snap in the NFL in quite some time, but claims he is ready for another shot.

Josh Gordon made his return the NFL action last week, and has made quite the splash since, catching passes for the Cleveland Browns. Quarterback is a very different, and more in-depth position, but who is to say that Colin Kaepernick isn’t better than Joe Webb?

The weather did not let Buffalo get another good look at their rookie quarterback, but Colin Kaepernick is worth a look in my opinion. Especially if Tyrod Taylor can’t go next week.

All of this depends on the health of Buffalo’s other quarterbacks, but Colin Kaepernick’s name will absolutely be in the mix this week.
