Get Zay Jones The Ball Early

Something seemed to click with Zay Jones last week.

The rookie wideout caught a career-high three passes against the Raiders, including a pair of tough receptions on the Bills’ first drive.

Those early catches gave Jones confidence that helped out later in the game.

With Kelvin Benjamin added to the receiving corps, the pressure will be off of Jones to make big plays. He will go from a No. 1 option three weeks ago, to the No. 2 option he’s been since Jordan Matthews returned to Tyrod Taylor’s third option.

It was clear that too much pressure was put on Jones too early as drops became a problem.

Jones will see Buster Skrine on Thursday. Skrine is coming off of a concussion and has played poor at times this season, with a 46.0 grade on PFF.

Sporting a favorable matchup, some early targets could spark a breakout game for the rookie.
