Matt Milano has been one of the Buffalo Bills’ top defensive play-makers in the past couple of weeks. Now might be a good time to learn who he is.

Matt Milano is a Boston College grad who was supposed to play special teams this year. Injuries have forced the linebacker to step up and fill a role that wasn’t originally meant for him. At a time where the team needed him most; Milano has stepped up.

Matt Milano was drafted by the Buffalo Bills with the 163rd overall pick, the 19th pick in the fifth-round.

The linebacker has shot up NFL analysts’ lists following his stellar play the last few weeks. He currently ranks as 15th among all linebackers with a grade of 81.1 by Pro Football Focus.

This is the play that gave Matt Milano some serious notoriety today. This was an absolute heads-up play by the rookie. He is part of a young defense that has been the reason the team is winning games. A team elevates to the next level when management can cash in on players in the latter rounds of the draft. It doesn’t hurt when your fifth round draft pick gets a 40 yard scoop & score at a pivotal point in the game.

Matt Milano is part of a draft class that includes Tre’Davious White, Zay Jones, and Dion Dawkins. The 2017 Buffalo Bills’ draft class is special. Some players contribute more than others, but this team has the right mindset and has players that are able to step up when they need them to.

Matt Milano is a blue collar player who performs that way on the field. Here’s to Matt Milano and that Buffalo Bills’ defense!
