Risers

Micah Hyde

Micah Hyde continues to be one of the best free-agent pickups of the season, league-wide.

The star safety once again made Pro Football Focus’ Team of the Week, this time with an 89.6 in the flex D position.

The stat that stands out the most, and what PFF describes as an “elite stat”, was his 0.08 yards per coverage snap in Week 5. Incredible.

Hyde picked off a quarterback for the league-leading fourth time last week and also made a pair of tackles. He was a bright spot in a devastating loss.

Jerry Hughes

Jerry Hughes is starting to become a staple in this column.

The former Pro Bowl defensive end turned out another impressive performance in Week 5, registering the Bills’ best grade on PFF. He earned a 90.7.

Hughes registered six pressures and four tackles in the loss.

Nick O’Leary

After watching Charles Clay go down early in this game, Nick O’Leary did a nice job stepping up in his absence.

Finishing with 54 yards on five catches, he quickly became Tyrod Taylor’s No. 1 target. The third-year tight end was the lone bright spot on a disappointing day for the offense.

If the Bills decide to not bring in any tight ends this week, O’Leary has proven that he can fill the hole left by Clay.

Shareece Wright

With E.J. Gaines out against the Bengals, Shareece Wright did a nice job filling in.

The corner made 11 tackles and was second on the team with two passes defended. If Gaines is out for any length of time, Wright is more than capable.
