Take Away Christian McCaffery

Christian McCaffery is a dynamic running back and one of the Panthers’ best offensive weapons.

The Bills’ run defense showed promise in the preseason and came through Week 1 against the Jets. However, the Jets didn’t have a weapon like McCaffery in the backfield.

The running back is a dynamic athlete and can be used out of both the backfield and in the passing game. While Jonathan Stewart is still an efficient runner, the Bills have the talent to bottle him up.

The linebacker play will be important when trying to take out McCaffery. The Bills need strong games from Preston Brown and Ramon Humber.

McCaffery was one of the “scouting eye” topics in BuffaloBills.com’s Scouting Report.

"“Panthers top pick Christian McCaffrey had an immediate impact on Carolina’s offense,” Bills Insider Chris Brown writes. “He put up 85 total yards on 13 touches in their Week 1 victory. A shifty and quick back, McCaffrey is also an accomplished receiver out of the backfield. Buffalo will have to put a safety on the Stanford product to stay with him in coverage.”"
