Sammy Watkins – Finn Balor

Sammy Watkins was a top draft pick and still oozes with all the talent in the world. He could be a franchise player and has all the tools you would want in a #1 Wide Receiver.

What you don’t know with Watkins is what his future holds. If he stays in Buffalo, will he have the passing offense to allow him to shine among the greatest stars at WR in the NFL? The other issue with Watkins is that following his best stretch, his injuries have slowed him down as of late.

With the injuries behind him, he looks to regain his foothold as one of the top young stars in the NFL.

In the wrestling world, the man who fits the same description is Finn Balor. Balor was a top pick of the Raw brand in the WWE draft, and he became the 1st ever Universal Champion. However, during his championship win, he got injured and forfeited the title.

Balor would be out the remainder of 2016, and wouldn’t return until April of 2017 and missed WWE’s biggest show, WrestleMania. Balor, like Watkins did return, and he appears to be at full health.

Balor hasn’t yet met his full potential as he has a lot more to offer WWE. Before arriving on WWE Raw, he was in New Japan Pro Wrestling and helped start Bullet Club, which is one of the trendiest wrestling factions since the NWO. He was a long time WWE NXT Champion and features an alter ego that is a marketing dream for WWE.

Watkins and Balor feature all the tools and intangibles you are looking for in star players. Unfortunate injuries have given their star ascension a false start. They can both rebound and reset, but I believe both are about to realize that elite potential in 2017.
