Cardale Jones will enter a very important training camp that will decide his future with the Buffalo Bills, who drafted him last season.
Ever since the Buffalo Bills drafted Cardale Jones in the fourth round last year, the question has been whether or not Buffalo is willing to keep him around until he’s NFL-ready. He wasn’t given much time on the field last season, but what he did show was that he is far away from being where he wants to be.
He’s got several traits that are promising, though. Aside from his cannon arm, Jones brings a big body at 6’5”, 250 pounds and even possesses some scrambling ability. He only saw one quarter of action during the 2016 regular season, which turned out to be the final quarter of the Bills’ season.
During that quarter, Cardale Jones finished 6/11 for 96 yards and one interception. He added one rush, for -1 yards.
After the Buffalo Bills drafted Nathan Peterman this offseason, many were calling this the end of the road for Cardale’s future in Buffalo. While that may be true, he will still get a fair shot at proving the coaches he’s worth keeping around. If so, the possibility of T.J. Yates getting cut still stands.
Either way, 2017 training camp will be an important one for Cardale Jones because even if he doesn’t impress the Bills’ coaching staff, he’s going to have to impress somebody. I would keep an eye on Cardale Jones over the next month or two. His future is sure to be decided by then.

Recent Quote (from Bills Wire)
"Buffalo cleaned house following the 2016 season, bringing in an entirely new front office and coaching staff that have no ties to Jones. Making matters worse for the 24 year old is the that the Bills signed T.J. Yates, a 30-year-old veteran who played under offensive coordinator Rick Dennison for four years as a backup with the Houston Texans.…If Jones’ poor showing in minicamp foreshadows training camp, Jones could be looking for a new team — and soon."
