The Buffalo Bills announced that individual and group tickets for the 2017 season will be available for purchase starting May 8th — with a twist this year.

In an attempt to maximize capacity at New Era Field and avoid seeing attendance numbers decrease like they did last season, the Buffalo Bills have implemented a new pricing strategy for individual and group tickets.

Chris Brown of BuffaloBills.com stated that it will “adjust prices to better reflect demand throughout the season.” The Bills put a lot of thought into this and want to make sure the fans are getting what they pay for — I like that.

Breaking it down, there are 5 tiers that the 10 home games are grouped in — including preseason games. Here’s a list of those tiers:

  1. Preseason
  2. Bronze
  3. Silver
  4. Gold
  5. Platinum

Pretty standard. When grouping the games, both the opponent and time of year were taken into consideration.

Aside from the obvious two preseason games, which fill the first tier, the Buffalo Bills will host three two Bronze games, two Silver games, three Gold games and one Platinum game next season. Let’s break that down:

  • Preseason: Minnesota Vikings, Detroit Lions
  • Bronze: Indianapolis Colts (Week 14), Miami Dolphins (Week 15)
  • Silver: Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Week 7), New Orleans Saints (Week 10)
  • Gold: Denver Broncos (Week 3), Oakland Raiders (Week 8), New England Patriots (Week 13)
  • Platinum: New York Jets (Week 1)

The Bills placed high prices on the season opener, which remain flat from the 2016 season. They are slightly lowered for the Patriots, as well as the two meetings with the AFC West in Weeks 3 and 8. Then they are lowered a little more for the two meetings with the NFC South in Weeks 7 and 10 and then drop close to preseason prices for the final two home games of the season.

Personally, I agree with their assessment of the schedule. If the Buffalo Bills are in the playoff hunt nearing the end of the season, fans will get to cheer on their team at a discounted price.

Before I list the prices for each tier, I want to add something that was mentioned in Chris Brown’s article on BuffaloBills.com. I’ll let him explain it:

"As fans purchase tickets, the price of each individual game can rise or fall to better reflect the demand for tickets. Ticket prices may decrease below the initial box office price, but will never fall below season ticket prices."

Alright, now to get to those prices:

  • Preseason: $44-$80 (Levels 100-300), $180-$255 (Sideline Clubs), $255-$335 (Indoor Clubs)
  • Bronze: $54-$98 (Levels 100-300), $193-$269 (Sideline Clubs), $255-$335 (Indoor Clubs)
  • Silver: $66-$118 (Levels 100-300), $208-$283 (Sideline Clubs), $255-$335 (Indoor Clubs)
  • Gold: $80-$140 (Levels 100-300), $228-$302 (Sideline Clubs), $255-$335 (Indoor Clubs)
  • Platinum: $86-$152 (Levels 100-300), $240-$314 (Sideline Clubs), $255-$335 (Indoor Clubs)

Individual and group tickets will be available for purchase beginning Monday, May 8th. If you would like to purchase individual tickets online, they will be available after noon. For group tickets, which are 12 people or more, tickets will be available by phone — 1-877-BB-TICKS (228-4257) — starting at 9 am.

In addition, you can purchase season tickets, which is an option right now. They’re a better value that allow you to get access to every home game this season.

Chris Brown also had one more announcement about the Bills’ schedule:

"The Bills will host Independent Health Family Day on Sunday, December 10 against Indianapolis. The Family Day Game will feature youth-themed activities, family ticket packages and an exclusive game day giveaway. The preseason game vs. Minnesota on August 10 will also feature youth ticket pricing and activities."

It’s almost time to get those tickets! Don’t wait until it’s too late, act now and secure your spot! You could witness something special this season.
