After the Buffalo Bills traded down from pick 10 to 27, many thought the Bills traded too far back to get an impact player.

In the end, the Buffalo Bills drafted LSU CB Tre’Davious White in addition to receiving picks 91 and a 2018 1st round pick from the Kansas City Chiefs. Now the question is, where does Tre’Davious White fit on the Bills depth chart?

White wasn’t the top available cornerback as Kevin King was ranked ahead of him when the Buffalo Bills were on the clock. However, White will come in and start instantly across Ronald Darby.

White is a physical cornerback that looks like a McDermott pick, as his zone-based coverage defense will fit White. In his senior year, he become an elite cornerback, allowing 41.7% of his targets to be completed.

Cornerback was a huge need for the Buffalo Bills, especially after Stephon Gilmore left via free agency. Nickell Robey-Coleman, along with safeties Corey Graham and Aaron Williams, were also released.

Now McDeromtt is really shaping his secondary. Like mentioned above, White will enter training camp fighting with Kevon Seymour to start at corner. He is aggressive in coverage who will often jump routes early leading to interceptions or pass knockdowns. This pick is a very smart one for the Buffalo Bills and company as the secondary is slowly taking shape after the White pick.

A knock on White is he is 5’11”, which many think he will get picked on against bigger receivers in the NFL. His speed is also a knock on his game, only running a 4.47, which was 14th among cornerbacks.

Here’s a look at the Buffalo Bills’ cornerbacks so far:

  1. Ronald Darby
  2. Tre’Davious White
  3. Kevon Seymour
  4. Leonard Johnson
  5. Marcus Cromartie
  6. Marcus Roberson
  7. Charles Gaines

In addition, White returned punts for LSU and there is a very strong possibility that he will return punts for the Buffalo Bills. Last season, White had three punt return touchdowns which should immediately help the Bills special teams.
