Thursday Night Football features the Bills vs. Jets. Here are some fantasy football tidbits which you can use to get an edge in your league.

The big story in Buffalo this week is regarding Sammy Watkins foot which was surgically repaired in the offseason. He is experiencing pain and while he is probable to play, it’s not a lock. You have to start Watkins if you have him, but he won’t be a top performer this week.

Tyrod Taylor doesn’t throw for many yards and Sammy Watkins is still not 100 percent making it easier for Darelle Revis to stay with him. Watkins will have an ok day but nothing like Week 17 last year when he torched Revis. We guess he’ll end up with four catches for 60 yards and a touchdown. None of the other Bills receivers merit a start until they prove otherwise.

The Jets had second best rushing defense in the league last year. While LeSean McCoy was able to put up over 100 yards against them last year don’t expect that this week. A good day for McCoy would be 70 to 80 yards on the ground and another 30 receiving. A bad day for Shady could look a lot like the 19 carries for 57 yards that the Bengals got against the Jets last week.

Matt Forte is a great start this week against the Bills. You can expect him to get plenty of carries in what will be a defensive battle for time of possession and field position. Forte will also get plenty of screen passes which teams like to use against the Bills because of how aggressive the defense can be at times. Look for him to have over 120 all-purpose yards with a few receptions and touchdown.

Jets receivers Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker are also must starts. Decker had at least five receptions and a touchdown against the Bills in both games last year while averaging just under 68 yards per game.

Marshall also had a touchdown in both games. But he had two very different games. One with 5 receptions, 126 yards the other for 3 reception, 23 yards.

Quincy Enuwa had seven catches for 54 yards and a touchdown for the Jets last week but I’d still ignore him at this point. The Bills have two top-notch cornerbacks and will not need to double Decker and Marshall as often as other teams would. That was part of the reason why Enuwa was open last week.

I wouldn’t start Ryan Fitzpatrick in leagues as he offers limited upside, throws too many picks and has struggled against his former team and Rex Ryan. Fitzpatrick is 1-8 against Rex coached teams and has a completion rate under 48 percent according to Mark Cannizzaro of the New York Post.

Tyrod Taylor is not a great start either. He didn’t air the ball out this past week which allowed the Ravens to the bring pressure to him. Against a tough Jets defense, in an important game for both teams, he’s going to be cautious with the ball and risk averse.

I wouldn’t look to start any of the tight ends in this game either. Kellen Davis and Jace Amaro are just not good enough to have on your team. Charles Clay is the best offensive threat tight end in this game but he was only targeted three times last week and came away with two catches for 40 yards. He’ll get a few more receptions against the Jets, but not enough to prove worthwhile for a start.

Both defenses looked like top 10 defenses last week and are worth a start if they are on your team. This should be a low-scoring grind and both teams have a propensity to make stupid mistakes and costly turnovers. There should be plenty of extra points for sacks and turnovers to go around.

Next: It's Time to Trade Sammy Watkins in Fantasy Football

So there you have it start Decker, Marshall, Forte, McCoy, Watkins and either defense if you have them. Otherwise, you should be leaving any additional Jets and Bills on your bench this week.
