Buffalo Bills Sell Naming Rights to Ralph Wilson Stadium

It was recently announced that the Buffalo Bills sell naming rights to their beloved Ralph Wilson Stadium. What exactly went down?
It’ll still be the same old stadium that we’ve grown to love over the years, but it’s true that it will be taking on a new name soon. The team announced a few days ago that they have reached an agreement with the buffalo-based hat company, New Era, for the naming rights to the Buffalo Bills‘ stadium.
The Bills’ stadium first took the name Rich Stadium back in 1972, named after the food service company Rich Products. The name stuck for 25 years before it was renamed Ralph Wilson Stadium in 1998 — named after the team’s founder Ralph Wilson. Since then, Ralph Wilson Stadium has been home to the Buffalo Bills.
We all remember the death of Ralph Wilson, which came in 2014 and marked the beginning of the Pegula ownership. A lot has changed about the Bills since all of that happened and this seems to be the next one up.
There was a lot of speculation as to whether the Bills should build a new stadium or not. Although that likely won’t be happening soon, this might just be the first step towards that. The Bills’ lease will run through 2022 and gave New Era the right to refuse those rights once the contract is over — or if the Bills decide to rebuild the stadium.
Personally, I think New Era is a perfect fit for the Buffalo Bills — who are slowly transitioning into a more modern era. Established in Buffalo back in 1920, New Era has quickly become the world’s largest cap distributors, especially in the world of sports.

I mean, we’ve all seen how good Tyrod Taylor looks in their hats. He confirmed that he owns a $2,500 New Era Super Bowl 50 hat in honor of the Ravens’ Super Bowl win. Maybe Taylor can get a $5,000 one for Buffalo.
Sold in over 80 countries around the world, this new deal will definitely bring more exposure to the team around the world.
