Ik Enemkpali suffers a major knee injury against the Indianapolis Colts as the Buffalo Bills injuries continue.

Buffalo Bills LB IK Enemkpali is out for the season.

The linebacker tore his ACL in the first half of their preseason game against the Colts. Enemkpali was attempting to rush the passer when his right leg twisted violently. Coach Rex Ryan said the injury was “major.” This is a crushing blow to the Bills linebacking corps — once again.

The injury to Enemkpali caps off a frustrating week for the linebacker. Earlier in the week he took a swing at teammate Cyrus Kouandijo. That scuffle was said to just be a typical training camp flare up.

Enemkpali became known last season when he was part of the NY Jets. During training camp he got in a fight with then starting quarterback Geno Smith. During the altercation, Smith got his jaw broken and Enemkpali was released from the Jets. He signed with the Bills shortly after.

Coming into this season, the Bills had high hopes of getting their defense back in the top 10 and making a playoff push. This latest injury will make things that much harder. They have been hit with a number of injuries lately. The Bills are already without standout rookie Reggie Ragland for the season. First round pick Shaq Lawson may not be back until mid-season and linebacker Manny Lawson has a torn pectoral, but is hopeful to return by the start of the season.

On the offensive side of the ball, stars Sammy Watkins and Lesean McCoy are being eased into preseason action due to previous injuries. Second year running back Karlos Williams has been battling a weight issue all offseason and will miss the first four games of the season due to a substance abuse violation. Offensive lineman Cordy Glenn and Richie Incognito are also banged up.
