Buffalo Bills Training Camp: August 3rd thoughts
It was the first night practice of 2015 in Buffalo Bills training camp and it was sold out with the stands packed with fans and no open spot along the railings. Here are three thoughts from under the lights:
1) The return of Aaron Kromer is huge:

Offensive line coach Aaron Kromer made his 2015 training camp debut today, after sitting out the first three days due to his assault incident in Florida. He told the media before practice that his sole focus was to get this line into gear, and it showed from the start.
Kromer was getting into it with his lineman, showing a lot of enthusiasm as they went against their defensive mates in the trench. The line showed improvement today as well, protecting the quarterbacks behind them better than they had all weekend.
2) Wide receivers struggling to get open right now:

Yes. Let’s point fingers at the four guys in the red jerseys and say it’s all their fault they don’t look very good right now. But while we do that, let’s also look at the surprising group of really good DBs, who were supposed to be the weakness of this defensive unit.
With Stephon Gilmore leading the way, this group has done a nice job of keeping the talented receivers on this roster in check.
Bacarri Rambo should have had a pick on a telegraphed throw by EJ Manuel, while Ronald Darby and Nickell Robey both were shutting down their matchups during one on one drills.
3) Defensive line looks as good as ever:
The offensive line had a really good day today, besides two plays that blew up. But over the course of these four days, the defensive line may even look better than last year.
Mario Williams blew past Cordy Glenn to sack Manuel, Kyle Williams would have stuffed Matt Cassel had it not been for his red jersey, and Tyrod Taylor was sacked by a herd of Bills on his first play of 11-on-11 drills.
After breaking the franchise record for sacks last season, the Bills are looking to again be getting pressure with just their front four. Add in exotic blitzes from Rex Ryan, and that record might be broken again.
