As far as tight ends go for the Buffalo Bills, there are 7 listed on the training camp roster of 89 to date. The Buffalo Bills will not be bringing in 7 tight ends into the season. They will most likely be bringing into the season, 3-4 and 4 is a stretch.
Charles Clay is a lock for coming into the season. With a 5 year 38 million dollar contract, the only thing that will stop him heading into the season as the number 1 tight end is an injury.
As far as 2nd and 3rd string tight ends go, Chris Gragg is coming back for his 3rd year with the Buffalo Bills and limited improvement from each of the last two years. He has been on the lower end of the playing time with Scott Chandler getting most of the playing time. The Buffalo Bills also brought in a hybrid tight end in MarQueis Gray, who performed well at the end of the season last year.
Gray is another guy that will make this team with the versatility factor that he brings to the field. Nick O’Leary, the rookie, should also be a guy that makes this team as well. The 4th tight end, if it goes that far would be Gragg on my count, but that is only if the Bills decide to go with 4. Clay Burton, Chris Manhertz and Matthew Mulligan, are tight ends that will not make it through training camp.
