The Buffalo Bills have 5 capable running backs on their roster headed into camp.

I can tell you they will not be carrying 5 running backs into the start of the season.  This could be one of the most competitive position battles that will occur during training camp though.

I can see Rex Ryan taking 3 backs into the season with him, and maybe even 4 but it will be a stretch even for that.  I will start with the odd man out.  At this point, it looks to be Bryce Brown.  With LeSean McCoy projected as the starting workhorse for Greg Roman’s offense and the rookie Karlos Williams looking to be an explosive counter-option from McCoy, those two I don’t see being left off this roster.

Fred Jackson is a mainstay for this team and for leadership purposes only, I foresee Jackson staying on the team, unless and injury occurs to the point where it is a better business decision to move on.

Anthony (Boobie) Dixon makes this team strictly for his special team ability.  With McCoy, Jackson, and Williams pounding the rock, even in goal-line situations, Dixon becomes your special teams guy and grabs the 4th and final spot for the running back corps.
