The Buffalo Bills are one week closer to training camp. What should we be watching for come training camp? Is there one Buffalo Bills player that defenses need to focus on? How are the rookies doing so far with their first offseason cmap behind them?
This and more with the daily links from around the web for the Buffalo Bills.
AFC East Q&A: Which Bill will defenses focus on?
"Today’s question: The Bills’ new-look offense has no shortage of playmakers, from Sammy Watkins and Percy Harvin to LeSean McCoy and Charles Clay. Which one will be the primary focus for the defense you cover?"
Science says NFL schedule-makers hate the Bills, love the Bengals
"A research paper presented in February at the MIT Sloan Sports Analytics Conference proved what just about every NFL observer has long held as true: Teams that play opponents coming off an extended rest period don’t perform as well. The research, conducted by a team led by University of Buffalo industrial and systems engineering professor Murat Kurt, found that over a five-year period (2009-13), teams that played an opponent coming off a bye week or a Thursday night game had an average winning percentage that was four percentage points lower than teams that played opponents coming off normal rest."
10 most important Buffalo Bills of 2015, No. 9: Corey Graham
"It’s hard to understate just how valuable a performer veteran defensive back Corey Graham was for the Buffalo Bills during an ascendant 2014 campaign for the team’s defense.Which is funny, because he wasn’t even supposed to be a starter for that defense. Sure, he played 70 snaps in a Week 1 win over Chicago, but only because top cornerback Stephon Gilmore was sidelined by injury. A month later – despite recording an interception and eight defended passes in the first three games of the season – Graham played only eight snaps behind a healthy secondary in a Week 5 loss to Houston, surrendering a 35-yard touchdown reception in that contest."
Buffalo Bills: Rookie updates
"Buffalo’s roster is currently one of the most talented in the NFL. Due to depth at several of the skill positions, it will be hard for some of Buffalo’s squad to make the cut in 2015. As players work to distinguish themselves, where does that leave the recent 2015 draft class? Several of Buffalo’s draft picks have signed rookie deals with the team, and are making headway this offseason. Updates on key additions, such as cornerback Ronald Darby, guard John Miller, and running back Karlos Williams show the rookies making viable contributions."
Buffalo Bills: What to watch for during training camp
"The Buffalo Bills are set to start training camp, at St. John Fisher College in nearby Rochester, on Friday, July 31st. The camp will run until August 25th, giving fans plenty of time to come and support the team. Buffalo will be gearing up to make final player selections and solidify the 53-man roster. This offseason has generated a lot of hype surrounding the revitalized Bills, and will undoubtedly carry into the regular season. But, what should fans be watching for during this year’s training camp?"
