Perhaps one of the Buffalo Bills‘ best moves this offseason was the trade of linebacker Kiko Alonso for LeSean McCoy from the Philadelphia Eagles.

McCoy, the 5’11” running back from University of Pittsburgh, was announced Wednesday night as the 29th ranked player in the NFL Network’s Top 100 Players of 2015. While he did not play with the Bills during the 2014 season, his substantial ranking in the countdown foreshadows an improved run game in Buffalo for years to come.

Entering his seventh season and posting 6,792 career rushing yards, it’s no secret that McCoy is an expert NFL veteran. He’s scored 44 rushing touchdowns along with ten receiving touchdowns totaling over 2,282 receiving yards during his career. In the 2014 NFL season, McCoy finished third in the league for rushing yards with a hefty total of 1,319. Not too shabby…

Aside from his ability to easily find holes in the line and his undeniable speed, LeSean McCoy has superior arm strength. If you’ve seen the video of him flinging 45-pound weights around like they’re weightless Frisbees, then you know what I’m talking about. Simply put, he’s a beast.

Nicknamed “Cut on Dime,” LeSean McCoy has left an impression on players around the league, including Ryan Kerrigan, linebacker for the Washington Redskins.

"“He makes you look silly. He gets you with that jump cut every time and you’re closing down. You think you got him and he’s dead in the rights and then that little jump cut, you’re on the ground and he’s running down the field. That dude, he is a nightmare to face.”"

Other players, like E.J. Biggers, cornerback for the Philadelphia Eagles, agree that McCoy can be frustrating to stop.

"“[Laughing] I mean, he gives you a headache, man. He might not make you miss once. He might make you miss three or four times in one place so you got to always be ready.”"

McCoy, 26, is known for his swiftness but that’s not all he has to his name. He is a three time pro-bowler (2011, 2013, 2014), the 2013 NFC Offensive Player of the Year and the 2011 and 2013 FedEx Ground Player of the Year. Atop all that, he has a pair of First All-Pro team appearances (2011, 2013). The highest “Shady” (McCoy’s nickname from his mother) has been ranked in the NFL Network’s Top 100 Countdown was at #5 in 2014.

But wait, there’s more! This Pennsylvania native has set many franchise records with the Philadelphia Eagles, including the single-season record of rushing yards in a season (1,607 yards, 2013), the all-time leading rusher record (6,792 yards), and the single game rushing rushing record (217 yards).

The question is:  Can he do the same with the Bills?
