Per Reports, La’el Collins Meets With Buffalo Bills Head Coach Rex Ryan

After a whirl wind of a week for former LSU Tigers offensive tackle La’el Collins, he’s now meeting with NFL teams. His first? The Buffalo Bills.

News broke in the middle of last week that Collins was pulling himself out of Chicago to go back to Baton Rouge to meet with authorities about the murder of Brittany Mills. Mills, 29, was shot to death last week. She was in her third trimester of pregnancy when she passed away. The baby, who was in critical condition following the death of Mills, passed away just days later.
Collins left Chicago for Baton Rouge because police wanted to question him. It must be noted that as of right now he’s still not a suspect but only being question.
It’s said that Collins and Mills were romantically involved but as to the time and date it’s unknown.
After news broke about Collins’ situation his agent tried pulling his name from draft consideration. During this time teams started pulling his name completely off of their draft boards. After failing to get his name pulled from the draft he stated that he wouldn’t sign a contract if he fell out of the first three rounds.

Collins slipped past the three rounds, and then the four after those. Just a couple days after the draft finished he’s met with head coach of the Buffalo Bills, Rex Ryan, over dinner.
Many teams are also said to be in contact with him including the Dallas Cowboys and Buffalo’s division rival Miami Dolphins. It’s not suspected that he’ll receive any type of contract until his name is cleared from the situation regarding the death of Mills and her baby, which is now being considered a double-murder.
When/if his name clears there’s no doubt Buffalo should offer Collins a contract. He’s regarded as a first-round talent and would’ve been selected there had this incident not occurred.
If signed, Collins would be a favorite to at least take over the starting right tackle position over Seantrel Henderson. We’ll keep you up-to-date in the following days regarding the possibility of a contract being offered.
