The Pittsburgh Steelers are now on the clock with the 22nd pick…

55. . Outside Linebacker. nfl. Bud Dupree. 22. player

Dupree is a pass rusher that has the athletic ability to come off the edge.  He is a bit raw and will need some grooming but will be a player in this league.

**TRADE ALERT**The Detroit Lions have traded the 23rd pick to the Denver Broncos. The Lions will get O-Lineman Manny Ramierz, the Broncos 5th round this year and their 5th round next year as well as the 28th overall pick this year.

The Denver Broncos with the 23rd pick select…

nfl. Shane Ray. 23. player. 45. . Defensive End

Shane Ray’s is a talented player and as the ability to be an all pro.  With some questionable decisions right before the draft, his stock dropped.  I didn’t think that he would have gone until the second, but the Broncos wanted him and moved up to get him.

The Arizona Cardinals are on the clock with the 24th pick…

Offensive Tackle. nfl. D.J. Humphries. 24. player. 32.

Humphries is a good pick for anyone looking for a starting tackle.  He has some issues with his hand placement but that is coachable.  He also needs to drive and not lean when blocking the defenders.

The Carolina Panthers are on the clock with the 25th pick…

87. . Outside Linebacker. nfl. Shaq Thompson. 25. player

Shaq Thompson is a linebacker that can defend both the run and the pass.  He has elite talent as an outside linebacker.

The Baltimore Ravens are next up with the 26th pick in the 2015 NFL Draft…

Wide Receiver. nfl. Bresahd Perriman. 26. player. 26.

Perriman has good size for a receiver and has the strength to fight off the defenders.  He has that high end gear as well to take him over the top of most defenses.  He will stretch the field for

Joe Flacco

and the Baltimore Ravens.

The Dallas Cowboys are now on the clock with the 27th overall pick…

123. . Cornerback. nfl. Byron Jones. 27. player

Jones has played both cornerback and safety.  He has good anticipation for a corner and should excel in this league.

The Detroit Lions are on the clock with the Broncos former pick that was traded to them earlier…

Laken Tomlinson. 28. player. 50. . Offensive Guard. nfl

Tomlinson is a guy I was hoping would fall to the Buffalo Bills at the 50th overall pick.  He is a guy that can be a plug and play at the guard position for the Bills and now for the Lions.  He has the strength to basically manhandle the defenders.

The Indianapolis Colts are now on the clock with the 29th pick…

. Wide Receiver. nfl. Phillip Dorsett. 29. player. 46

” Dorsett is an ascending prospect who has averaged more than 25 yards per catch since 2012. He can challenge teams vertically inside or outside and he has home-run potential after the catch as a slot receiver. With smaller wide receivers like

T.Y. Hilton

and

Antonio Brown

The Green Bay Packers are next on the clock with the 30th pick overall…

player. 49. . Safety. nfl. Damarious Randall. 30

He looks to be able to play both safety and corner, but has the talent set for a true cover safety.  He is able to find the ball and make tackles in the open field.  Great on the coverage end for a safety.

The New Orleans Saints are on the clock with a pick they received from the Seattle Seahawks, the 31st overall pick…

15. . Inside Linebacker. nfl. Stephone Anthony. 31. player

Anthony is a player that will go hard every down.  He is not a 2 down player, but a 3 down player.  He is able to cover the pass as an inside linebacker as well as stop the run.  He will be a starter this year in the league.

The New England Patriots are on the clock to finish out the 1st round of the 2015 NFL Draft…

player. 47. . Defensive Tackle. nfl. Malcom Brown. 32

Malcom Brown will be able to fill the shoes of Vince Wilfork at some point, but it might not be this year.  He needs to get his endurance up as he does run out of gas, but he plays 110%.  He is able to break through the line and has a quick burst when going from point A to point B.  He is able to play in either a 3-4 or a 4-3.

There you have it.  The first round of the 2015 NFL Draft is in the books.  Tomorrow rounds 2 and 3 get off the ground at 7 pm.  The Buffalo Bills will have 2 picks on Friday the 50th overall and 81st overall picks.  See you then.
