Another week down and another week closer until the NFL Draft. We are just under 2 weeks out from the 2015 NFL Draft. The Buffalo Bills have some options to look at as far as who they draft and if they go offense or defense with their first two picks, that won’t come until day 2 of the draft, Friday May 1st.

As we move on, we continue to look at draft prospects that may fall into the Buffalo Bills lap on either the 50th or the 81st pick. Anthony Harris is a guy that has multiple position talents. He is similar to a Kordell Stewart or even a Brad Smith. He played quarterback, receiver, and DB in high school. Selected as a team Captain in Virginia, he set a school record for having 5 consecutive games with an interception.
Harris has a draft grade of a 5.51 placing him in the category of potential NFL starter.
Some strengths and weaknesses for Anthony Harris are…
"Instinctive and processes what he sees quickly. Lines up secondary and stays true to coverage responsibilities. Hawks tight ends and anticipates routes. Breaks swiftly on throws, taking good angles and contesting with his long arms. Very good hands. Chalked up 26 passes defensed and 10 interceptions with just two penalties over last two years. Foot quickness and quick twitch to transition laterally and accelerate to contain run. Quickly diagnoses run and glides downhill under control. Stays engaged and interested throughout the game.Thinly built and lacking bulk to bang. Stiff, upright backpedal. Gives up separation and looks unsure of himself when matched against slot receivers. Can be passive as deep safety, continuing to drift despite play unfolding underneath. Lacks assertive, attacking demeanor against blocking wide receivers. Plays upright and loses leverage when tackling. Grab-and-drag tackler.– NFL.com"
Anthony Harris is projected to be taken in the 3rd or 4th round. He is being compared to Jaiquawn Jarrett, who has been in the league for 4 years, 2 with the New York Jets and 2 with the Philadelphia Eagles. He has played in 43 games, has 61 tackles and 1.5 sacks and 2 interceptions.
The bottom line on Harris is…
"Productive three-year starter with above-average instincts and football intelligence. Was an interchangeable safety, playing both deep and in run support, but lacks the bulk, physicality and sure tackling to make a living in the box in the NFL. Harris has some coverage limitations in man, but his skills will get him drafted and should also earn him a starting spot fairly quickly.– NFL.com"
There are other guys that are higher on the draft board as far as DBs go, but with a late 3rd to early 4th round projection, he should be there for the Buffalo Bills to take a gander at when they come around at 81. Wouldn’t be my first choice, but if he is best on the board, might be worth looking at.
