Most of the session dates that will be laid out below, are voluntary camps. There are some OTAs, organized team activities, in there as well but there is one mandatory mini-camp that all veteran players under contract must attend or face the consequences of being fined from the teams.
As the Buffalo Bills have a new head coach this year, they fall into a small category of teams with new head coaches that has the NFL allowing 1 voluntary mini-camp for veterans before the draft and they will also begin their offseason conditioning programs earlier than teams that have returning coaches.
As for the Buffalo Bills, they will start their workouts this coming Monday, April 6th along with 2 other teams the Atlanta Falcons and the New York Jets. This is the earliest that they will be starting. There are two teams that will be starting their offseason workouts on the 7th, the San Francisco 49ers and the Oakland Raiders. The rest of the teams, except for the Bears and the Broncos, who start on the 13th, will begin their offseason workouts on April 20th.
Here is the rest of the Buffalo Bills minim-camp/OTA/Voluntary and Mandatory workout dates.
Voluntary Minicamp: April 28-30; OTAs: May 26-27,May 29, June 1, June 3-4, June 8-11; Mandatory Minicamp: June 16-18.
As far as the NFL goes with schedules, the NFL schedule will be released this coming week, they will also have the draft at the end of the month, starting on Thursday April 30th. The free agency period will end on May 12th as mentioned in an earlier article. After these events, the NFL is in full offseason mode and minim-camps and workouts will be the major point until training camp officially opens.
