Doug Whaley Hints At QB On 2nd Day
By Dennis Amo
The Buffalo Bills have a couple of needs to still address this offseason and some of those needs might not be met through the draft either. The Buffalo Bills and Doug Whaley brought in Matt Cassel to compete with EJ Manuel, but may not be done with just 1 signing for a competition this coming summer.

With the Buffalo Bills still not satisfying their need at the quarterback position, it has been hinted at that the Buffalo Bills may just be making a move on day 2 of the draft to bring in another quarterback should one fit their fancy at the 50th overall pick.
At this point, Doug Whaley does not think that there is a big drop off from Jameis Winston and Marcus Mariota from the rest of the quarterbacks that are project to go in the 2nd and 3rd rounds, at least not as big a drop off as everyone else is making it out to be.
Rex Ryan has already gone to Baylor to work out Bryce Petty, but there could be one or two others in the mix that we may see that Bills bring in for pre-draft interviews. Brett Hundley and Garrett Grayson could be other options that the Buffalo Bills may look at come the second day of the draft.
"“I think there will be a run on some guys maybe in the second and third round that are a little lower. But, again, I don’t think the drop-off is as big as a lot of people are saying,” Whaley said, via ESPN.– PFT.com"
These three guys are possible franchise quarterbacks that the Buffalo Bills could bring in to easily compete with EJ Manuel and Matt Cassel come training camp.
The Buffalo Bills should be drafting a quarterback in every draft until they have a franchise quarterback that they can rely on and take them to the playoffs year in and year out. Using a late draft pick each year could provide a guy that is a diamond in the rough and turn out to be that guy that the Buffalo Bills have been looking for since the Jim Kelly era.
