No. 5: The Snow Game (Bills vs. Jets 11/24)
When over 60″ of snow pummeled Western New York the weekend before Thanksgiving, there were questions whether or not the Bills and Jets were going to play their game as regularly scheduled on November 23 at 1:00 p.m. at Ralph Wilson Stadium.
It got so bad that Commissioner Goodell had to speak with weather officials along with the Bills and Jets to figure out what was going on. They had a decision to make.
The NFL decided to move the game to Detroit and hand out free tickets on a first-come, first-serve basis to a Monday night matchup at 7:00 p.m. The Bills, who weren’t able to practice all week, took it to the Jets.
The vaunted Buffalo defense only allowed 11 New York first downs and only 126 yards passing by quarterbacks Michael Vick and Geno Smith.
Kyle Orton led the Bills to 336 yards of total offense in a 38-3 romp.
This game also featured what is probably the greatest touchdown celebration of the season, when Scott Chandler scored to make it 13-0 and proceeded to shovel snow.
