Darrelle Revis and Rex Ryan are familiar with each other, as Revis was part of the Jets for most of Rex Ryan’s tenure there.  It was only the last two years that the two had been apart.

  • Drafted in 2007, he was apart of the New York Jets until being traded to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2013. After a year in Tampa Revis found himself on the open market with an offer form the New England Patriots.  The deal that Revis and the Patriots came to finally agree on provides Revis a 20 million dollar compensation package that will be paid out in March.  If the Patriots are unable to come to another agreement with Darrelle Revis then they will have to decide on whether to pay that money out or part ways with him.

"If the Patriots aren’t willing to go that high, the question becomes whether other teams will be willing to offer more than what the Patriots would put on the table.  Any team that provides that information to the player’s agent engages in tampering; agents, however, call it “gauging the market” in order to better assess the player’s value.– Profootballtalk.com"

Some of the other teams that are interested are the Buffalo Bills, along with the New York Jets, Kansas City Chiefs, and Cleveland Browns.

Speculation has occurred as to the price the New England Patriots would need to keep Darrelle Revis off the market and it looks to be right around 2.5 times more than the Patriots are paying their beloved quarterback, Tom Brady.

Would the Bills be in the market for Darrelle Revis? It is a possibility with the Rex Ryan and Dennis Thurman connection, but the price tag may be too high for the Buffalo Bills to be able to reach out and touch Revis.  Although new owners, Terry and Kim Pegula, have made it known that they will spend money to bring in the right personnel for this team.  Is a cornerback the right personnel at this time though?

I would like to see the Bills take that money and put it on a quarterback, the problem is there really is not a lot of option at the quarterback position as far as free agents are concerned.
