Kyle Orton was brought to the Bills back in late August to serve as a mentor and back-up to EJ Manuel, the face of the franchise. After a dismal, two game performance by Manuel, Orton was placed into the spotlight, one of which is a familiar with. Orton stepped in with 10 years behind him and rallied the ls from a 14-0 deficit to beat the 3-1 Detroit Lions, and Lasergate 17-14 for Buffalo to win their 3rd game and stay in first place in the AFC East. Was bringing in Orton the right choice for Buffalo? [numberFire]
Give credit where credit is due. Bill Belichick has done just that, with the impending match-up this weekend against the Buffalo Bills and the New England Patriots. Belichick has given praise to Jim Schwartz for coming in and making a quick a good transition as defensive coordinator as well as the Bills having a front four that is tough to block and able to get pressure with just the front four. Last year, Mike Pettine brought pressure with an extra man on 37% of the passing plays they had faced through the first 5 weeks. Jim Schwartz has only brought pressure with an extra man 18% of the time through the same time period with only a difference of 3 drop-backs. Not too shabby Schwartz, especially seeing as the Bills are leading the league in sacks so far as well. [Boston.com]
Darrelle Revis “Island” will taking on Sammy Watkins during the game this Sunday. The Bills found out that Revis will be shadowing Watkins throughout the game. Revis has had problems in the past when he has been on Buffalo receivers, mainly Stevie Johnson. Will Watkins be able to cause the same problems that Johnson did for Revis? [Syracuse.com]
The Buffalo Bills will be looking to take down the New England Patriots for the first time since 2011. They played them well last year but were unable to get the W. This year, they are stacked again and poised to take the Patriots down. For the Bills to have their best shot at winning, the defense, lead by Mario Williams will have to get to Tom Brady and get him flustered. We have seen that when Brady is flustered he gets off of his game. [Rant Sports]
