We move on to the next stage of our Who Wore It series, Number 18.
There have been 6 players that have worn the number 18 during the history of the Buffalo Bills.
We start in 1960 with quarterback John Green. Green played for the Bills for two seasons and finished his career with the New York Titans for two seasons.
Kay Stephenson is the next player to wear the number 18 for the Bills. Stephenson was a quarterback for the Bills during the 1968 season. He also served as the Buffalo Bills quarterbacks coach from 1983-1985.
The next player to don the number 18 didn’t come until almost 20 years later, Joe Danelo was a kicker for the Bills in 1983-1984. The Bills was Danelo’s last stop on his career. He was drafted by the Dolphins in 1975 but played for the Packers for that season. He moved on to the Giants in 1976-1982 until he became a Bill.
2006 was the next time a Buffalo Bills player wore the number 18. Wide Receiver Andre Davis is the next on the list of six. Davis only played for the Bills for that one season. He played until 2010 with the Houston Texans and finished with 2470 receiving yards and 21 touchdowns.
Wide Receivers Naaman Roosevelt and Kevin Elliott are the final players to wear the number 18 for the Bills. They played for the Bills during the 2011, 2012 seasons respectively. Roosevelt was an undrafted free agent signed by the Bills. He has since played for the Browns and is currently part of the Detroit Lions’ roster. Kevin Elliot is a current player on the Bills roster. He was an undrafted free agent and was signed by the Jaguars in 2012. Elliot was signed by the Bills late in the 2012 season after being released. Elliot was placed on IR after suffering a torn ACL in a preseason game in 2013. He missed the entire 2013 season.
