The Buffalo Bills have had a roller coaster of a season so far. There have been a couple of games, that were close and they should have and could have won. But their record is what it is and they have to look forward and take every game one at a time.
A key for the Bills to be successful in the late stretch needs to be a 2 dimensional game plan.
They were able to win against the Jets with a mediocre running game, but that will not always be the case in the coming games.
To win games consistently, there needs to be ball control and with that comes a 2 dimensional offensive plan.
"“We just have to go back and look at the beginning of the season and see what we were doing great and what was really working well for us and just get back to that,” saidC.J. Spiller. “At the end of the day the running game is our bread and butter here, especially in the conditions that we play in here. You have to be able to run the ball.” A recognized running game will also open up the passing game, which with Manuel back into the swing, seems to be where it needs to be.With the Bills having two pro bowl backs in their backfield, there should be no excuse to have under 100 yards per game on the ground. Jackson and Spiller need to realize what needs to be done and get it done for the Bills to be successful.“We just have to go back and look at the beginning of the season and see what we were doing great and what was really working well for us and just get back to that,” saidC.J. Spiller. “At the end of the day the running game is our bread and butter here, especially in the conditions that “We had a meeting as running backs and said that we have to get this thing fixed,” saidFred Jackson on the heels of the team’s 68-yard rushing performance against the Jets. “The offensive line feels the same way. We can’t go out and put a performance like that in week in and week out and expect the other guys to carry us throwing the ball. It’s something that we’re all very mindful of and want to get fixed and have to get fixed.”With 5 games remaining, there are 4 teams that are ranked 26th or worse in the league when it comes to defending the run. The only team that is not in the bottom is Tampa Bay. They are ranked 9th overall allowing just over 101 yards per game. “We just have to go back and look at the beginning of the season and see what we were doing great and what was really working well for us and just get back to that,” saidC.J. Spiller. “At the end of the day the running game is our bread and butter here, especially in the conditions that we play in here.
