It's always interesting to see how former Bills are doing with their new teams.

No matter how hard fans try to stay on the attention of the current state of their favorite team, they are still going to look at the production of players who used to play for their favorite teams but are now somewhere else. The Buffalo Bills have a lot of former players that are still active in the league. However, Bills fans aren’t exactly thinking about them because the Bills are on a high note at 8-2 and ripping off five consecutive wins going into a highly anticipated matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs.

With Week 10 wrapping up tonight between the Miami Dolphins and Los Angeles Rams, another week will have passed by us and we are getting closer to the end of the regular season. Even though the Bills are in a fantastic position to make a run at number one seed in the AFC, there were two former Bills who had a great day that could have really helped Buffalo against Indinapolis. Then there were two former Bills who struggled with their respective teams.

2 former Bills who shined and 2 former Bills who disappointed

Shined: WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling - New Orleans Saints

When the Buffalo Bills traded for Amari Cooper after Week 6, they needed to make room for him on the roster. As a result, wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling, who signed with the Bills last offseason was released.

Valdes-Scantling signed with the Saints shortly after and he was a major reason why the Saints defeated the Atlanta Falcons in Week 10. Valdes Scantling was targeted just three times, but he had three receptions for 109 yards and two touchdowns. His longest catch of the day was 67 yards, serving as a deep threat for Derek Carr.

The Bills could have used some extra wide receiver help against the Colts. Amari Cooper and Keon Coleman were both out with wrist injuries and the passing attack was not great against Indianapolis.

Shined: DT Poona Ford - Los Angeles Chargers

Buffalo’s biggest weakness this year has been defending the run on defense. They have not had a lot of success stopping opposing running backs and it was no different against the Colts. Jonathan Taylor rushed for 114 yards and until adjustments were made, it looked like Taylor was going to play a major role in a potential upset. The Bills could have used some defensive help to stop Taylor, someone like Poona Ford who played with the Bills last season.

Ford now plays for the Los Angeles Chargers and he was part of the seven sacks that the Chargers enforced against Titans quarterback Will Levis. He also played a role in stopping the Titans rushing attack from doing any kind of damage.

Disappointed: WR Gabe Davis - Jacksonville Jaguars

It’s been a rough outing for the former Bill, Gabe Davis. After spending four years in Buffalo, Davis went back home to Florida where he signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars, teaming up with Trevor Lawrence and it has been nothing but utter disappointment by the Jags overall.

Davis sure isn’t doing the Jaguars any kind of favor either. He has just 236 yards on the year along with two touchdowns. In yesterday’s loss against the Minnesota Vikings, Davis was target four times and he only had one catch for 19 yards.

Even though this was a defensive battle for sure, Davis once again disappointed for Jacksonville and it proves why the Bills opted to not re-sign him last offseason.

Disappointed: RB Devin Singletary - New York Giants

Even though Devin Singletary was a bit of a fan favorite while he was with the Bills, it’s safe to say that Bills fans are more than happy with James Cook in the backfield. Singletary left Buffalo in 2023 and signed with the Houston Texans, before joining the New York Giants to reunite with Brian Daboll.

Expected to be the main back in New York, Singletary has had his moments but it has recently been the Tyrone Tracy show for the Giants. Week 10 was no different in Munich, Germany. Singletary only got to carry the ball eight times for 40 yards, while his teammate Tracy got 18 carries for over 100 yards and a score.

It looks like the Giants have their guy in Tracy for the rest of the season and Singletary might be the complimentary back rather than the starter.
