As of right now, the Buffalo Bills and Los Angeles Rams played in the game of the year on Monday Night Football in Week 5. If you managed to stay up late for this game going into overtime, then you got the chance to see so much greatness from both offenses where there were six total touchdown drives starting at the end of the third quarter and through regulation.

Then just like the 4th quarter, overtime became a mixture of emotions for both teams as there was a costly fumble from James Cook, a blocked field goal attempt from Greg Rousseau on Harrison Mevis, and then Tyler Bass nailing the game-winning field goal. This was one of those games where the Bills have come out on the losing side, but not this time.

There is so much to digest from this game, both good and bad. However, one factor for the Bills is being overlooked that made the Bills' win even more impressive.

Bills' overcame good amount of injuries in primetime

Prior to kickoff, the Bills' final inactives featured a good amount of contributors not playing due to injuries. Before the inactives were revealed, fans already knew that WR Joshua Palmer and DT Ed Oliver were ruled out.

Then WR DJ Moore, CB Dee Alford, and DL Landon Jackson were all listed as questionable. However, all three of them were ruled inactive.

So, the Bills were down three starters in Moore, Oliver, and Alford. Then they lost depth at wide receiver with Palmer, as well as in the trenches with Jackson.

Then during the game, the Bills lost RT Spencer Brown to a back injury, which has dealt with before in his career early on. Tylan Grable replaced him and he was serviceable, but he did have a penalty called on him for holding.

Injuries didn't hold Bills back from thrilling win over Rams

The Bills had a lot of reasons to lose this game, whether it was happening during the game or before with the injuries. But they didn't let it define them. The defense played well in the first half, and then the offense turned it up in the second half.

While the Bills may have received a little bit of luck in overtime, they took advantage of the opportunity to push the ball down the field to win the game.

This is a factor that should not be ignored. It was truly a "next man up" type of game. T.J. Sanders shined on the defensive line, Khalil Shakir and Ty Johnson stepped up in the receiving game, and Grable managed to hold his ground throughout the game once Spencer Brown went out.

This was a great win for the Bills, but this factor should be highlighted big-time.
