The Buffalo Bills announced on Wednesday that the team has released Cyrus Kouandjio and Josh Woodrum.

With the second week of OTA’s in full bloom, the Buffalo Bills announced that two players won’t return to the team — Cyrus Kouandjio and Josh Woodrum.

The announcement came as the team announced the signing of WR Rod Streater and TE Wes Saxton.

Cyrus Kouandjio has had a rough offseason after showing signs of improvement towards the end of 2016. The former second round draft pick by the Bills in 2014 started five games last season filling in for Cordy Glenn.

The troubles began when he injured his hip after falling at his home. The injury required immediate surgery and kept him sidelined during recent workouts. In addition to that, Kouandjio was found by the police not too long ago in a field screaming ‘Shoot me!”

He wasn’t arrested, but was hospitalized.

The troubles begin as he will now have to work his way back onto an NFL roster — much like Karlos Williams had to do last offseason.

I wish Cyrus Kouandjio the best of luck moving forward and hope he finds success elsewhere.

Josh Woodrum was the other player released on Wednesday, but he was never expected to make the final roster. The release does free up the backup QB battle, which is now between T.J. Yates, Cardale Jones and Nathan Peterman.

As far as how releasing Woodrum affects that battle, it won’t make a huge difference. It did free up a roster spot, though, as the Buffalo Bills ended up bringing in a former teammate of Andre Holmes to further deepen the depth at receiver.

The roster currently sits at 90, which is the maximum allowed to bring into training camp. We could still see some more new faces appear in Buffalo like today, but it would mean letting someone else go.

We might’ve seen Cyrus Kouandjio and Josh Woodrum keave, but we welcomed two new members to the family!
