Fans and players took to Twitter to give their thoughts on the Buffalo Bills drafting Tre’Davious White out of LSU with the 10th pick in the NFL Draft.

Personally, I think the Buffalo Bills drafting Tre’Davious White with the 27th pick in the NFL Draft was a good selection. Sure, I would’ve also liked Reuben Foster with this pick, but ultimately they decided to go injury-free with White.

I will note that White missed the Senior Bowl this season due to an ankle injury, but it was minor and he was mainly held out to prepare for the Combine and draft.

He’s a good pick. Knowing Doug Whaley and Sean McDermott have keen eyes for the cornerback position, it’s safe to assume that they had a certain type of player in mind for the position. I would assume it would include a versatile leader on the field that can play inside, outside, slot and help against the run.

Check all of those for Tre’Davious White.

Add in his value on special teams, White was a three-year punt returner for the Trojans and managed to score a touchdown in each of those seasons. His speed allowed him to be a great gunner, as well.

For all of these reasons, I like the pick. As long as the front office and coaching staff got the player they need, I have all the faith in the world that they will succeed in the new scheme. You can count on that because if they weren’t choosing the player that fit their scheme best, they would’ve chosen the best available.

After the pick, many took to the ole’ Tweet machine to welcome the young cornerback to Buffalo. He was welcomed with warm arms, starting a new era after Stephon Gilmore joined the (I don’t even want to say it).

White received a lot of praise from his former coach, Ed Orgeron, at LSU:

"“He has always been one of the leaders of this team,” Orgeron said. “He’s a great kid and has a bright future in the NFL. If he was my son, I’d be very proud.”"

Here’s some of the more notable tweets last night’s selection, starting with Orgeron:
