Bills in trouble as they face a tough Arizona Cardinals team this week. A team that reminds me of their opponent from last week the New York Jets. Except that the Cardinals are better.

It’s weird. The Arizona Cardinals remind me of the Jets. The problem for the Bills this week is that the Cardinals are a better, more well-rounded version of the Jets. Think about it. Carson Palmer is a lot like Ryan Fitzpatrick but with a better arm and weapons.

David Johnson and Matt Forte are three-pronged backs. They excel in the running game, the passing game and they can block too. Johnson stands at 6’1″ and weighs 224 while Forte is 6’2″ and 218 pounds. Johnson is six years younger than Forte and just entering the prime of his career.

The Jets three best wide receivers are over 6’2″ and they have Eric Decker who is one of the better slot receivers in the league. The Cardinals have three of their top four receivers over 6’2″, Larry Fitzgerald is one of the best slot receivers in the league and they have the short but speedy John Brown to boot.

Both teams have strong defenses all around. The Cardinals have a major advantage over the Jets in that Patrick Peterson has soared up the cornerback rankings to number one in my opinion. On the other hand, Darelle Revis has seen his best days. He’s trending the opposite way but as Rex Ryan puts it, “if he’s slipped at all as a player, he’s coming down from the very tip of Everest. That’s where he’d be coming down from.”

With the Bills needing two long touchdown passes and a defensive touchdown just to keep it close with the Jets, they could be in for an even longer day this Sunday against the more talented Arizona Cardinals. With the potential for Sammy Watkins to be out of the lineup, the Bills will have to play inspired ball in order to pull out the victory this week.

As a players coach, Rex Ryan has been known to pull a rabbit out of the hat and get his teams to play above their level in the past for him when his job was in jeopardy. Let’s hope he has another one of those tricks up his sleeve this week.
