Buffalo Bills positions finalizing quickly

The Buffalo Bills are 4 days into camp and they already have starters locked into positions that had gaps, which in the interim means that there are limited spots that are available for position battles.

To add to the mix, the Buffalo Bills signed Merrell Noel to a contract.  Merrel Noel had signed with the Buffalo Bills back on May 4th of this year and then was released on June 18th.

"Noel started all 12 games and served as a team captain for the Demon Deacons in 2014. He recorded 40 tackles and three interceptions on the way to being named third team All-ACC. The 5-10, 175 pound Wake Forest product started in 43 of the 44 career games he played in and totaled 192 tackles and eight interceptions.– Buffalobills.com"

Merrell Noel is most likely being brought in for depth purposes at this point for the DB position.  He will wear number 46.

The Buffalo Bills have solidified the left side of their line from the reports that Rex Ryan has given out.  He likes the look of Cordy Glenn as the left tackle and Richie Incognito as the left guard.  Eric Wood is your center and the rookie, John Miller is the favorite for the right guard spot.  If this is the case and injuries don’t come into play then the only position on what has been a struggling line is the right tackle position.  At this point, it seems that Cyrus Kouandjio has made leaps and bounds over the offseason, from last year, and is the favorite to start there.

Corey Graham has been lined up with the starters on defense at the safety position, which seemed to be another spot of a position battle between Jonathan Meeks and Duke Williams, but at this point they have been rotating in with the 2nd and 3rd stringers.  If Graham has been slotted as the starter next to Aaron Williams then it looks like Meeks and Duke will be in competition for the back-up position.

At the cornerback spot, Leodis McKelvin is still working through an injured ankle and is not set to participate in training camp yet.  This has put rookie Ronald Darby on the island opposite Stephon Gilmore and could also be the reason the Buffalo Bills brought back Merrell Noel as well.  Can Darby hold his own and be the king of his own island?  From what he has shown in the off-season workouts and in training camp so far, there should not be any issues at this point.
