Trent Edwards already has more wins than he had in his last season at Stanford. Edwards looked poised and confident in guiding Buffalo to a 17-14 victory over the visiting New York Jets. Michael Gaines was on the receiving end of Edwards first NFL touchdown that put the Bills ahead 17-7 in the fourth quarter.
The Bills defense was key in the victory, intercepting Chad Pennington twice including a pick by Terrance McGee with six seconds left to seal the victory. The defense had allowed over 400 yards in each of their losses but held the Jets to 346 total yards. [...]

Bills Football Friday
This Sunday the Bills will try to earn their first victory of the young season. Rookie quarterback Trent Edwards will make his first career start in place of an injured J.P. Losman in front of the hometown fans. I anticipate that the sellout crowd will give Edwards a roaring ovation. We all know that the most popular player on any team is the backup quarterback.
The Bills offense has struggled through three weeks and they hope that Trent Edwards will give them a much needed spark. The key for Edwards will be to figure out a way [...]
Bills vs. Patriots Report Card
The Buffalo Bills lost 38-7 against the New England Patriots, so there were obviously not many bright spots in the game.
Running Offense: B
The Bills lone bright spot would be the running game, and it’s not that bright. The Bills managed 110 rushing yards for an average of 4.1 yards a carry. If they can average 4.1 yards a carry all the time the running game will be successful and possibly open up the passing game. Marshawn Lynch led the Bills with a respectable, but not spectacular, 74 yards on 20 carries. If the passing game ever [...]
Another roster move
The Buffalo Bills placed yet another player on Injured Reserve as offensive lineman Jason Whittle was placed on IR after tearing his hamstring against New England. The Bills signed linebacker Kevin Harrison to replace Whittle on the roster. Harrison spent all of training camp with Buffalo before being cut. The signing of Harrison was necessary because of injuries to Keith Ellison, Coy Wire and Paul Posluzsny.
Bills make more moves
The Buffalo Bills continue to make more roster moves necessitated by the plethora of injuries that have hit the team. The team signed Cornerback Jerametrius Butler yesterday and put back up running back Josh Scobey on waivers in order to make room for him. The move was necessary because of the injuries suffered by the secondary. In the game against New England the Bills started Jabari Greer and Ashton Youboty at corner and were forced to use Bryan Scott who is naturally a safety.
The loss of Scobey will not affect the team since it seemed like every time his name [...]
Bills Notes
A couple of quick Buffalo Bills notes on my way out the door. I tried to post yesterday but internet issues kept me off the site. Anyway the Buffalo Bills signed Craig Nall…yep the same Craig Nall they cut three weeks ago. The move makes sense with Losman down because trying to teach a new quarterback the offense just wouldn’t work. Craig Nall didn’t get cut because he didn’t play well, he got cut because the Bills wanted to keep Fred Jackson because they were afraid he would sign somewhere else if they let him go.
In order to make room [...]
Bills hurt by Patriots
The frustrating beginning to the Buffalo Bills season continued as they dropped a 38-7 decision to New England Patriots. The game didn’t start off very good for the Bills as starting quarterback J.P. Losman was injured on the very first play from scrimmage. It was an innocent looking screen pass to Marshawn Lynch for four yards but Patriots defensive tackle Vince Wilfork delivered an elbow to the left knee of Losman. Losman remained in the game for just two more plays before being replaced by rookie Trent Edwards.
Edwards came into the game and led Buffalo to a touchdown on his [...]
Bills look to pull upset
Let’s first be honest with ourselves and understand that the Buffalo Bills have not played well for two consecutive weeks. The key is that it’s only two weeks and not the whole season. The Buffalo Bills face a tough task this afternoon in Foxboro but it’s not insurmountable. The Bills will have to execute to perfection and have an outstanding game plan but it’s possible for them to pull the upset. Let’s take a look at what needs to happen for a Bills victory.
The Bills win if…
The Patriots don’t show up
Steve Fairchild opens up the offense and allows Losman to [...]
