Xavier Worthy's Super Bowl performance officially makes Bills regret passing on him

The infamous 2024 draft trade that sent Xavier Worthy to the Chiefs continues to look worse for the Bills.

The Super Bowl has come to an end and the Philadelphia Eagles are standing at the top of the mountain. The Eagles went down to New Orleans and delivered a beatdown to the Kansas City Chiefs, putting up 40 points and making life difficult for Patrick Mahomes.

The Buffalo Bills had the chance to compete for the Super Bowl but they fell short (once again) to the Chiefs two weeks ago. Instead, they had to watch the Super Bowl from home.

However, the Eagles managed to take care of business for the Bills and destroy the chance of the Chiefs three-peating. Even though the Chiefs completely fell apart on offense, their rookie wide receiver Xavier Worthy had a fantastic game against Philly’s tough defense. Despite Mahomes getting sacked six times (and getting hit eleven times), he connected with Worthy 8 times (off of 8 targets) for 157 yards and two touchdowns.

Worthy managed to bring in a 24-yard touchdown pass, as well as a garbage time 50-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter. He was one of the only bright spots on the Chiefs in the Super Bowl and his performance proves one thing…the Bills have officially lost the trade that they and the Chiefs made during the 2024 NFL Draft.

Buffalo Bills have officially lost the Xavier Worthy draft trade with Chiefs

Last April, the Bills and the Chiefs made a trade in the first round that made the Bills trade back and allowed the Chiefs to come up and draft Xavier Worthy. Brandon Beane literally gifted the Chiefs Worthy and it has come back to haunt them. The Bills traded back to the 32nd overall pick, but then would trade out of that pick to the Carolina Panthers who acquired Xavier Legette.

The Bills would draft Keon Coleman with the first pick in the second round, but Coleman didn’t have the impact that Worthy had with the Chiefs. Worthy had more receptions, yards, touchdowns, and played in more games than Coleman.

Even in the playoffs, Worthy was more valuable than Coleman. In the AFC championship, Worthy had six receptions for 85 yards along with a touchdown. Coleman would have just one catch for 12 yards. Now with Worthy’s Super Bowl performance, it proves that the Bills lost this draft trade.

Brandon Beane usually does very well with trades and acquisitions, but this was not a win for him. Even though Coleman has shown flashes of being a solid receiver for the Bills, Worthy is off to a better start to his career and he shined in the Super Bowl, even though the Chiefs did not.
