If there's one thing Buffalo Bills fans can count on, it's the ineptitude of the New York Jets. Despite hiring a promising head coach in Aaron Glenn, the Jets are 0-7 through the first seven weeks of the 2025 regular season and don't appear close to righting the ship anytime soon.
This is wildly entertaining for Bills fans who know they can depend on the Jets to cheer them up. It somehow gets even better though. How can it get better than a division rival going winless through the first month and a half of the season? Well, by that team's owner making one ill-advised comment after another, which is precisely what Jets owner Woody Johnson did.
The NFL Fall League Meeting is underway in New York right now and Johnson was asked what his message would be to Jets fans who have lost hope in the team. His response was absolutely epic (at least for Bills fans, that is).
"If they're a true Jets fan, that's not a question you ask. They've been at it for a long time. They know exactly what's going on. I think they're the smartest fans in the world because they know what's going on."
Well isn't that just delightful? According to Johnson, Jets fans have "been at it for a long time", which is what exactly? Losing? Because if so, then yes, they have. They've grown very accustomed to seeing their team do just that.
Jets owner can't stop embarrassing his team, much to the delight of Bills fans
The fun did not stop there, however. Johnson couldn't stop himself from talking about the quarterback situation his team is currently finding themselves in and took several shots at Justin Fields and the Jets offense.
Some more gem quotes consisted of: "If we could just complete a pass, it would look good," which was clearly a direct shot at Fields. Also: “If you look at any head coach with a quarterback like that, you’re going to see similar results.”
Oof. Bills fans might find quite a bit of enjoyment out of these quotes but honestly, it's still pretty cringeworthy to hear a team owner openly criticizing his coach and quarterback like that, especially considering he signed off on the decision to bring in Fields in the first place.
The Jets continue to show they're stuck in the mud going nowhere and it's the greatest entertainment source there is for Bills fans. Keep it up, Woody!
