Remember how we were gearing up for the start of the season, and the Buffalo Bills were preparing for the Baltimore Ravens on the first Sunday night matchup of the season? It’s amazing how time has flown so fast because now, it’s officially Week 12.
That’s right, we are over halfway through November and the race for the playoffs is starting to really heat up. The AFC is wide open and quite frankly, there is no true best team in the conference. Sure, the records will say otherwise but the eye test also plays a factor. Buffalo certainly has played like the best team, and has also looked like the worst team.
This week, the AFC East has some matchups that may not be the most popular to watch, but they will be important for fans to follow as November starts to slowly wrap up.
Week 12 AFC East schedule
Buffalo Bills (7-3) @ Houston Texans (5-5) - TNF
Prime Video - 8:15PM EST
The Bills are hitting the road for a Thursday Night Football matchup against the Houston Texans. Buffalo is coming off a huge win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers where Josh Allen had six total touchdowns in the 44-32 victory. They could only enjoy that win for a limited amount of time because of this upcoming game against Houston.
Houston is coming off a walkoff win against the Tennessee Titans, but Houston has not been the best this season. They are an average team and are dealing with some injuries. The Texans beat the Bills last season in Week 5 after Buffalo’s offense couldn’t get anything going until it was too late.
New England Patriots (9-2) @ Cincinnati Bengals (3-7)
CBS - 1PM EST
New England has been rolling this season. They are winners of eight straight which includes a win over the Bills in Week 5. To put it as simple as possible, they have a case as the best team in the NFL. They beat the Jets on Thursday night in Foxborough so they have a little bit of extra time to prepare and rest for their matchup against Joe Flacco and the Cincinnati Bengals.
The Bengals have lost three straight and only put up 12 points against the Steelers. Now they will be tasked to take on the Patriots who seem to be playing the best complimentary football in the league.
New York Jets (2-8) @ Baltimore Ravens (5-5)
CBS - 1PM EST
The Jets might be the worst team in the league and now they will have to travel to take on the Baltimore Ravens, who have been winners of their last four since Lamar Jackson returned. This game could easily get out of hand early on. Believe it or not, Bills fans should be rooting for the Jets to pull off an upset to keep Baltimore away from catching them in the standings.
Miami Dolphins (4-7) - Bye Week
The Dolphins get the week off after winning back-to-back games against the Bills and Commanders. Their next game will be on November 30th where they will host the New Orleans Saints.
