The game of the week for Week 9 won't be happening until Monday Night Football when the Buffalo Bills and Minnesota Vikings get set to clash in primetime.
Both teams come into this matchup at 6-1, and each of them have a specific strength. The Bills have no problem lighting up the scoreboard and averaging 33 points per game with Josh Allen under center. In 5 of their 6 wins, the Bills have scored 30+ points.
As for the Vikings, they have a very tough defense that blitzes at a high rate. They have the 2nd overall ranked defense and they are the only team that has yet to give up 100 points on the season. They also only allow 13 points per game, which is the league's best.
It will be a true battle between both of these units, and it could easily come down to the wire on who makes one more better play.
Bills projected to beat Vikings in Week 9, but with signs of offense struggling
Sayre Bedinger of NFL Spin Zone predicted each primetime game winner for this week, and Bedinger has the Bills beating the Vikings, 23-19.
"While Jared Goff has been the NFL's best passer this season, Josh Allen has the highest EPA of any QB in the league thanks to his legs. Allen is the most dynamic dual-threat in the NFL right now, and we know Brian Flores likes to bring heat. No, we can't say that. That's not accurate. Brian Flores loves to bring heat more than any defensive coordinator in the NFL." Bedinger wrote.
"Playing at home is a huge factor in Minnesota's favor, but I think Josh Allen and the Bills keep their foot on the gas." Bedinger added.
Vikings' defense could make or break Bills' chances at winning in Week 9
When you see this kind of score prediction, it shows a low-scoring game where it could come down to who has the ball last. When you have a defense like Minnesota, they have the capability to close out games late in the 4th quarter.
Even though the Bills have Josh Allen under center, a Brian Flores defense can easily wreck havoc and force a huge play to shut down opponents.
While the Detroit Lions showed the NFL a major weakness that the Vikings have with stopping the run, they still barely beat the Vikings. Joe Brady, Josh Allen, and the entire Bills offense has a tough challenge and there could be some panic moments throughout this game.
