The Buffalo Bills are coming back into action after being on their bye week, with their focus on the Baltimore Ravens coming to town. Buffalo is coming off of their bye week at 5-1, and they are looking to keep their 11-season streak going of not losing coming off of their bye week.

They had the chance to rest and get healthy, especially when it came to players like DJ Moore and Ed Oliver who missed the Bills' last two games. In addition, the Bills received some more positive news from an injury aspect.

According to head coach Joe Brady, per Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network, the Bills are opening up PUP practice window for WR Tyrell Shavers, who suffered a torn ACL in last year's Wild Card round game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Shavers won't play this week against the Ravens, but the Bills believe that he will be ready soon.

Tyrell Shavers set to make 2026 debut sooner than later

Shavers has been a fan-favorite since being signed as an undrafted free agent in 2023. Going into the 2024 season, a lot of fans were hoping that Shavers would make it onto the active roster because of his hard work and playmaking skills that he showed in training camp. However, he was only the practice squad for a majority of that season.

Then going into last season, Shavers got a roster spot and joined the wide receiver room as primarily a run-blocker, but also having the ability to create separation down the field (which is something the Bills heavily struggled with last season).

With Shavers set to come back to the active roster, this could put another Bills WR in possible roster jeopardy.

Joshua Palmer could be in trouble with Tyrell Shavers' return

Let's face it, Joshua Palmer has had little to no success since being signed as a free agent in 2025. With Shavers coming back soon, the Bills are going to have to decide not just who will be suiting up for their wide receivers, but who will also be heavily involved in the gameplan for the passing attack.

Palmer has just 4 catches through Buffalo's 6 games. Now granted, 2 of them went for touchdowns but since then, Palmer has not been productive at all. He has only caught 36% of his catches and he's had multiple drops. It's just simply unacceptable.

With Shavers now practicing, this could put Palmer in a tough spot as for as playing time. Heck, maybe a roster spot could be affected. Then again, that's assuming that they decide to keep Skyler Bell activated for gamedays. The only reason why he has suited up was because of DJ Moore dealing with his shoulder injury.

With Moore expected to be back (hopefully), and now with Shavers looking to get back onto the active roster, the Bills are going to have to make a decision on what to do. Palmer seems like the wideout that is in the most trouble.
