Buffalo Bills fans were psyched when Tom Brady finally left the AFC East after 20 years of tormenting the entire division. Even though Brady is out of the division and now in the broadcasting booth, he's still found ways to get under Bills fans' skin.
Brady was asked on NFL on FOX's YouTube channel what his favorite stadium to play in was during his 23-year NFL playing career. Since this is being written up on a Bills site, you can probably guess that he did indeed pick the Bills' stadium.
Tom Brady says he loved playing in the Bills' stadium during his career
Brady started by saying that he liked playing in Buffalo because of the short flight from New England.
"I would say Buffalo and for a number of reasons. One, it was a very close flight when I played for the Patriots to actually get there. So I loved going to Buffalo because it was a quick flight there and back."
Okay, this checks out. Nobody likes long flights and NFL players are so used to traveling that a short flight has to be a nice feeling whenever they get that opportunity. That was only the first reason on Brady's list though, so what else did he have to offer on why he loved playing in Highmark Stadium?
More Bills news:
"The second reason is they have incredible fans in Buffalo. Every time you would drive into the stadium, it was like the craziest environments from 9 a.m. on. Those fans know how to get it rocking. That stadium was always crazy."
Bills Mafia getting a shout-out with reason number two! As much as fans couldn't stand Brady when he was in the AFC East, there was something special about getting to see one of the best quarterbacks of all-time play in Buffalo once a year every year, even if he would go on to clobber the Bills. Speaking of that, let's get into his third reason.
"And the third part was we had a lot of success there. So there were a lot of big games, they were a tough division rival, it felt like football weather all the time. It was challenging, it was rainy, it was wet, it was windy, it was cold. The games always meant something, and we found a way to overcome it."
Yeah, you read that right. Brady liked playing in Buffalo because the Patriots almost always found a way to win when they played on the road against the Bills. The former Patriots quarterback went an astounding 16-2 on the road against Buffalo and he had plenty of his own success throwing for 38 touchdowns (though he did throw 15 interceptions).
As much as Bills fans hate to admit that third point, it makes sense for why it'd be Tom Brady's favorite place to play.
