The Baltimore Ravens may be the most complete team the Buffalo Bills have faced this season. From the top down Baltimore’s playmakers can give Buffalo fits at any time. The Bills will need to be at their best this week, and Baltimore’s air attack may look a bit different if Zay Flowers isn’t 100%. We should see more of Rashod Bateman and Nelson Agholor than fans are accustomed to. Plus, both tight ends, Mark Andrews and Isaiah Likely will see more reps as well. So, who are some Ravens players Bills fans need to be worried about? Let’s dive into it.
Wide receiver Rashod Bateman
An underrated piece to the Ravens offense has been Rashod Bateman, who’s caught 45 passes for 756 yards and nine touchdowns. Bateman is someone who can take the top off the defense at any point and someone who has Lamar Jackson’s trust. The last time these two teams faced off, Bateman was held to just one reception for 23 yards.
However, things could be different now with injuries to the Ravens receiver room. Outside of Justice Hill, the Bills held Baltimore’s pass game in check earlier this season with a banged-up secondary. With a handful of players coming back on that side of the ball, there’s a lot to be optimistic about this week.
Cornerback Marlon Humphrey
Humphrey has been a stellar corner since entering the league in 2017. Earning two All-Pro nods and four Pro Bowls in that span. This year, Humphrey has continued to dominate, totaling six interceptions and eight pass breakups, and allowing 553 yards and three touchdowns on 50 receptions, according to Player Profiler.
It sounds obvious, but how Josh Allen performs will determine this game. The Ravens secondary ranks 31st in the league, according to Fox Sports. And despite the strong performance last week, it has a lot to work on before facing Buffalo.
Tight end Isaiah Likely
Likely has had moments this season where he looks better than Mark Andrews, and up until the middle of the season, he was the better tight end. Likely has totaled 477 yards and six touchdowns this season, compared to Andrews’ 673 yards and 11 touchdowns. Outside of Zay Flowers, Andrews and Likely are Jackson’s favorite targets, and two players that Jackson trusts in the red zone.
The Bills’ defense is fully healthy this time around, giving Buffalo some better matchups than in their first game. If Buffalo can contain this dynamic duo, Jckson will have a difficult time passing the ball, making Baltimore a one-dimensional team.
