The Buffalo Bills are going to have to make some big decisions this coming offseason. Just like any other team in the NFL, they will have to decide which direction to go with various positions and figure out who may be walking out into free agency.

Even though the team is in the middle of a four-game winning streak, the front office should be doing a lot of thinking about how this roster will look come March time when free agency starts and then going into next summer. Whether the Bills can find a way to win the Super Bowl or if they fall short again, there is one particular Bill who could be playing his final snaps as a member of the team.

Connor McGovern's days in Buffalo might be limited

Since signing with the Bills in 2023, Connor McGovern has been a stable player to Buffalo’s offensive line. He signed with the team after starting his career out in Dallas, and he thrived a lot last season in his first season playing center.

He signed with Buffalo as a guard but once the Bills moved on from Mitch Morse in the 2024 offseason, he was moved to center. Since then, he has been one of the best in the league in pass protection.

However, with all of the extensions that the Bills made this past offseason with Greg Rousseau, Christian Benford, Terrel Bernard, Khalil Shakir, and James Cook, it’s going to be extremely challenging for the Bills to also get McGovern extended beyond this season.

Not to mention, the Bills also have Sedrick Van Pran-Granger as a backup who was phenomenal in pass protection back in college. While he hasn’t been a full-time starter in the NFL, you have to wonder if the Bills believe in him well enough to let McGovern walk in free agency.

McGovern won’t just be the only player that the Bills might be losing on the offensive line. Left guard David Edwards is also on the final year of his contract, so that’s two key offensive lineman that the Bills may see walk out the door in March.
