The celebration of their Week 9 win over the Chiefs is officially over for the Buffalo Bills as they now turn their attention to the Miami Dolphins, who they will take on in south beach this Sunday. Buffalo is looking for their third consecutive win and the likelihood of them doing it against Miami is extremely possible, but not guaranteed.
Even though a lot of fans might be saying how this game could be considered a bit of a bye week, it’s the Bills who have more pressure on them than the Dolphins do. Miami is in shambles and they’ve already parted ways with their general manager, and have traded away a young rising star edge rusher. Right now, they are just looking to get through the season.
It’s the Bills that have more to lose than to gain from this game. They have to show up prepared and ready to go. That includes players who may not have played a ton, but now could get their opportunity.
Sean McDermott gets brutally honest about one Bills rookie
McDermott spoke with the media after the NFL trade deadline fiasco that happened (where Buffalo didn’t pull off one move), but he focused more on the team right now and moving forward. One message that he said was in regards to rookie defensive end Landon Jackson, Buffalo’s third round pick from this year.
According to Alex Brasky, McDermott told the media that since the Bills are dealing with injuries, “He [Jackson] needs to step up.”
Sean McDermott on Landon Jackson, in light of recent injuries: "He needs to step up."

Jackson has only played in two games this season, both against the Patriots and Falcons. He’s been no help whatsoever and he’s been a healthy scratch in every other game. The thing that is really concerning is that he was drafted early in the third round. That is fringe-level starter status. The fact that he’s not even dressing for the games is extremely concerning.
Maybe it’s because the Bills had too much depth at one point and that’s why he hasn’t been suiting up. Or, maybe he just needs more development to get onto the roster on gameday. Either way, with injuries across the defensive line with Ed Oliver and Michael Hoecht, Jackson now has the chance to prove that he belongs on the field and that he can actually deliver results.
