Last night’s Bills vs. Dolphins game was a bit closer than what fans may have expected, but the Bills came away with a 31-21 win to get to 3-0 while the Dolphins traveled back down to Florida at 0-3. Buffalo has now won back-to-back division games and will get plenty of rest before their Week 4 matchup against the New Orleans Saints, which is exactly what they need.

Even though the Bills won by ten, this game was tied going into the late stages of the 4th quarter. Luckily, Terrel Bernard came up with a fantastic interception after the Bills went up by seven and it pretty much sealed the deal for Buffalo.

Miami wasn’t necessarily dominant on offense, but they had a great third-down offense and allowed them to stay in the game, going 10/15 on third downs. The biggest difference maker in this game was that interception by Bernard. However, the Bills were also missing two key starters and had they been on the field, maybe this game wouldn’t have been as close as it was.

Sean McDermott provides great update on injured defensive stars

Going into Week 2, defensive tackle Ed Oliver, who was the MVP of the defense against the Ravens was “stepped on” in the middle of the week and was in a walking boot, causing him to miss the last two games. Linebacker Matt Milano suffered a pectoral injury in Week 2 against the Jets and was ruled out for yesterday’s game. The good news is that he wasn’t placed on the IR.

According to Joe Buscaglia, Sean McDermott said that both Milano and Oliver are “both improving” and said that “Milano’s injury is not going to be a long-term one at this point in time.”

It’s great to know that they are trending in the right direction to potentially get back on the field. With the Bills playing on Thursday night and having well over a week to get healthy, we could potentially see this defense get back up to full strength.

However, it is still the beginning of the season and we all know it’s a long one. There’s no need to rush them back if they aren’t at true full health.
