The Buffalo Bills need to be coming out of the 2025 NFL Draft addressing their biggest needs on defense, while also providing extra help for their MVP quarterback, Josh Allen. However, that extra help could easily be argued as getting players for the defense that can make a stop and not force Allen to play Superman in critical moments.

One position that really stands out as a huge need is cornerback. Even though they were able to extend their shutdown corner Christian Benford to a four-year deal, they still need someone dependable to play opposite of him. Even with the Bills bringing back Dane Jackson on a one-year deal, he is more of a rotational player than a full-time starter.

With the Bills having the No. 30th overall pick in the first round, it would make the most sense to immediately get a cornerback if one falls to them. Even if the Bills do bring in another veteran, it doesn’t hurt to have another corner for the future. Buffalo could be meeting that corner that could be a big difference-maker for their future if it all works on the first night of the draft.

Bills set to meet with top CB prospect

NFL Insiders Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo met with Ole Miss cornerback Trey Amos on NFL Network on Friday and talked to Amos about his experience of going through the draft process. When asked what teams Amos is set to visit here soon, he listed the Bills. In addition to the Bills, Amos will also meet with the Eagles, Cardinals, Buccaneers, and the Steelers. His visits will reportedly start this coming Sunday, per Amos himself.

Amos is exactly what the Bills need in their secondary. A bigger corner who effectively plays zone coverage. The Bills’ defense runs a lot of zone defense against the pass and Amos would have one of the best coaching units in the league to help him grow as a player and potentially become a franchise player.

In 2024 with the Rebels, Amos recorded 50 total tackles and a career-high 3 interceptions. He also showed that he can keep close to his guy, batting down 13 passes thrown towards him.

The Bills are showing early interest with Amos and if all goes well, he could possibly be the number one prospect on their board. However, Buffalo may have to trade up in order to acquire him if they like him enough.
