Aside from a few summer veteran and undrafted free agent additions, the Buffalo Bills roster is largely in place for 2026. How it takes shape will become more apparent as the summer unfolds and training camp gets underway.

On the cusp of a Super Bowl appearance for the last five years, the Bills have made a handful of moves to keep them in contention while also keeping an eye toward the future. They may not be the kind of earth-shattering move that fans clamored for, but the Bills may be a better team because of it.

Ranking the best offseason moves so far by Buffalo Bills

3.) Signing Bradley Chubb

The last two Super Bowl champions – the Seattle Seahawks and Philadelphia Eagles – showed that you don’t need a truly elite pass rusher to get after the quarterback. Utilizing larger defensive front rotations, both defenses became the toast of the league on their way to a title.

By signing Bradley Chubb, the Bills add a veteran pass rusher with proven success to a scheme that will utilize his skills. After missing all of 2024 with a torn ACL, Chubb returned to play every game, registering 8.5 sacks in the process. If he can return to being the double-digit sack producer he was in 2023, this is a fantastic signing for the Bills.

2.) The 2026 NFL Draft

Though there wasn’t a flashy pick to be had, the Bills did well with their selections in April’s draft. T.J. Parker will add quality depth to the edge rusher position and could be a starter before the end of 2026. Corner Davison Igbinosun has the size and physicality to thrive under new defensive coordinator Jim Leonhard.

The later into the draft, the better things look. LB Kaleb Elarms-Orr, WR Skyler Bell, and S Jalen Kilgore all look like potential steals. A good chunk of their picks should see the field in some capacity this season with the potential take over starting positions as early as 2027.

1.) Trading for D.J. Moore

The trade for D.J. Moore got mixed reviews. He’s coming off two down seasons, but his underlying stats show that he actually rebounded in 2025 while the Chicago Bears prioritized younger receivers. Coming to Buffalo, where QB Josh Allen needs more weapons, there is a lot to love about Moore.

It also doesn’t hurt that he had his best seasons with the Carolina Panthers under new Bills head coach Joe Brady. His speed, route running, and hands are still assets, and with all due respect to Caleb Williams – Moore has never had a quarterback like Allen.

Geared up for another run at glory

While they didn’t make a huge paradigm-shifting moves, the Bills got better overall. They shored up depth on the offensive line and added a couple of weapons to Allen’s repertoire. The defense added several explosive athletes, giving Leonhard the versatility he craves on defense. Whether that will be enough remains to be seen, but the Bills have done enough for fans to remain excited in 2026.
