James Cook is off to a stellar start to the 2025 season. In five games, he's rushed for 450 yards (on pace to go for over 1,300 total rushing yards), and has scored five touchdowns. After playing at a one touchdown-per-game pace in 2024, he's doing it again through the first quarter of the season in 2025.
Going into Week 6, what can we expect from Cook against the Atlanta Falcons? The Falcons are allowing an average of 109 rushing yards per game so far this year. That's around the middle of the pack in the NFL. Cook will be looking to smash through the Falcons defensive line and break through for 100 yards on his own. Will he do it?
Predicting James Cook's Week 6 stats for Monday Night Football
My guess is that he will come close. Cook went for over 100 yards three straight games in Weeks 2-4, but that streak ended against New England, who held him to just 49 yards.
Cook will bounce back for 80 rushing yards against the Falcons. He will also contribute in the passing game. So far this year, Cook has caught 12 passes for 89 yards.
Against a solid Falcons secondary and a good pass rush, Josh Allen will utilize Cook as a pass-catcher out of the backfield more often than usual. The Falcons have 10 sacks in four games, averaging 2.5 per game. They'll be putting pressure on Allen, who will have to get rid of the ball quickly.
That's why Cook will catch five passes for 35 yards and a touchdown. He will find the endzone, not on a handoff, but on a quick throw from Allen on second-and-goal. He'll also take care of the football, not giving away any fumbles.
Cook's versatility will come in handy to the Bills, as they will defeat the Falcons in a close win, 27-23.
