The Buffalo Bills had to wait until Day 2 to make their first selection in the 2024 NFL Draft but instead of trading back, they decided to get their guy. That player would be Keon Coleman out of Florida State, who reportedly was the last WR Josh Allen wanted early in the NFL Draft.
While Josh Allen would likely be excited for the pick, Coleman appers equally as excited based on the video tweeted out by Jamarcus Fitzpatrick when the pick was announced.
Keon Coleman excited to be joining the Buffalo Bills
The former Florida State and Michigan State wide receiver is going to be stepping into a great opportunity to make an impact early. The departure of Stefon Diggs, Gabe Davis, and Deonte Harty this offseason has freed up over 250 targets from this past season.
While Coleman won't get all of those he should be expected to account for a large portion of those. He is a big wide receiver that fits the Gabe Davis mold more than Stefon Diggs and will liekly be lining up on the outside as a true X receiver.
Similar to Davis, Coleman will be looked to in helping the run game as a blocker and in the passing game he should be a big red zone target for Josh Allen. There is no question defenses could have trouble defending this part of the field with Coleman, Dalton Kincaid and Dawson Knox all on the field at the same time.
