The Buffalo Bills entered the 2024 NFL Draft with the 28th overall pick and the thought was they might move up in the first round to get a wide receiver. However, they would end up going the other way and would trade back not once but twice.
The first trade was with the Chiefs as they would move up from 32nd overall to 28th overall and the Buffalo Bills got some significant draft capital by improving a fourth round pick into a third round pick in a trade that included six picks total.
The Chiefs traded the Bills picks of 32nd overall, 95th overall, and 221st overall for the Bills' picks of 28th overall, 133rd overall, and 248th overall.
However, when the Bills would be on the clock on the final pick of the first round, they would trade back once again. This time it would only be one spot as the Panthers would move up from 33rd to 32nd and the Bills flipped a sixth-round pick into a fifth-round pick and moved up almost 60 spots from 200th overall to 141st overall.
While it may only be one spot, it is worth noting that whoever the Bills select tomorrow will be a second round pick. This means the Bills won't be able to have a fifth-year option his rookie contract and they will only be able to sign a four-year contract.
The Buffalo Bills entered Thursday night with 10 picks and still have 10 picks over the final two days of the 2024 NFL Draft.
